Babies make me cry!

Recently whenever I see a baby I feel this emotion rise up inside me and get me by the throat. Especially if they are crying it totally makes me cry. Seriously it happens in grocery stores, parks, malls, even babies on TV...everywhere you see babies I get choked up every time I see one! It's so freakishly weird. I'm not a cryer...especially in public, but whenever I see a little bundle or hear one cry out, tears just start rolling out of my eyes. It's crazy! What is going on?

Have any of you out there ever experienced this?

My guess is it's just my hormones going crazy and it's nature's way of preparing me to be a mama. Oh it's so embarrassing. I'm such a cry baby!! :)

  1. I think it's perfectly normal. You are overwhelmed with emotions of every variety. You just enjoy the feeling and don't be embarrassed :)

  3. Aw! Inconvenient as unexpected tears can be, that's sort of sweet! And it's so hormonal!!! I cried the other day watching Say Yes to the Dress...I was overcome with emotion when the girl found "her dress". At least babies makes more sense. :-) XO

  4. Tears are very normal!! Wait until after you deliver the hormones get worse, at least they did for me for about one week following delivery- but guess what it was all good because I had my little one!! Good luck!

  5. I'm terrible about this right now which is so crazy for me since I rarely cry! When we were in our childbirth classes, they took us on a tour. Just as she was showing us the double doors you go through for c-sections, it opened and a brand new baby in the arms of his dad walked by us.

I was so choked up it was embarrasing. But I just feel so overwhelmed by emotion nowdays!!!

  6. Aw that's so sweet! Just imagine the waterworks when your daughter arrives. I bet you won't even be able to express the immense amount of love that is going to burst through your heart. I was astounded at how my heart felt like it had grown 10 sizes -- I was sure it would explode with love. Last night I was staring at Liam through his porthole and I said his name and his eyes flew open and focused on me and I promise I almost bawled right there with happiness.

I can't wait to hear your first blog entry about your love for your sweet girl!!

  7. When I was pregant, in the early part I would see videos of births (in a class) and would be grossed out. Then by the end (of the 8 week class) I would see those videos and cry uncontrolably. It was hilarious in hind sight. Have fun!

  8. I have exactly the same problem, I'm 16, but I've always had this... uncomfort around babies... I just get this huge rush of anxiety and I start feeling.. I dunno, sad? And then if theyre crying, it really gets to me, Ive cried in public before cause a baby cried, its so embarrassing... Just so strange at the same time...
